FITNESS

Please call to sign up for our fitness programs by calling the office at 215-487-1750.  Most of the programs are open to the public and our more rigorous programs demand a medical clearance . All fitness Center participants must go through an orientation. 

Many of our programs are offered at no charge but our instructional classes have fees or suggested donations.  No person is turned away for in an inability to participate financially and confidential arrangements can be made by calling for an appointment with out Counselor.

Tai Chi

Builds internal energy, improves flexibility, strength, and balance.  Meditative movement for all levels, done seated or standing

Yoga on Your Seat
Fri 2:00-3:00
Instructor:  Mimm San
Gentle yoga done seated.  Learn basic postures and breathing.  Increases strength, flexibility, and concentration. For all levels.

Play Tennis  for Life
Beginners:  Weds 11:00
Intermediate:  Weds 12:30

A fun sport with friendly people.

No cost if you are covered by your health insurance. All others: $1.00
Have fun and move to the music throuigh a variety of exercises designed to increae muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and balls are offered for resistance. and a chair is used for seated or standing support.

You must register to take this class. Just call to schedule an appointment

INTERAC FITNESS CENTER

Open Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5:00 pm

The fitness specialist will help you learn to use the equipment and develop your own fitness program.

Equipment is designed especially for older adults and includes

  • Upper Body Bike
  • Universal Gym
  • Free Weights

Be a Neighbor to Neighbor helper. Assist older homeowners with light chores, errands, rides, and regular €œfriendly calls.€

Be a Touching Lives over 55! volunteer peer counselor. Are you 55 or above with a heart for others?  Learn the skills to lead discussion groups with seniors on wellness, relationships, life changes, and more.
